Program Description
Individuals who can engage in instructional development, training facilitation and teaching are critically important for successful businesses and organizations. The minor in education provides an opportunity for students in other program areas to develop skills in teaching, instructional design and program facilitation. Students in this minor can expect to develop teaching, training and instructional development skills that they can apply to designing learning for different types of learners. Students also learn to apply knowledge of learning and instruction to different types of formal and informal learning environments.聽
Learning Outcomes
- Develop learning activities for learners in formal and informal learning environments.聽
- Practice teaching skills and instructional tasks for all learners.聽
- Plan lesson activities and learning object design using learning objectives.聽
- Plan learning experiences based on Instructional Design Approaches.聽
- Implement learning experiences based on learners with varied cultural, language and geographic backgrounds.
- Apply traditional and emerging technology to the design, development and evaluation of various learning tasks, lessons and objects.聽
