Develop Financial Skills and Methodologies for Business
51小黄车鈥檚 Bachelor of Science in Finance degree program prepares students to meet the growing demand for finance professionals by imparting crucial knowledge and skills in raising capital, making investments and understanding the financial markets in which businesses operate.
In addition to completing the core business curriculum requirements, students majoring in finance will study the three general areas of finance:
- Corporate Finance
- Investments
- Financial Institutions and Markets
After completion of the finance core, students have choices to tailor their program according to their interests and career goals.
Finance students who want to pursue advanced certification, including the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or Certified Financial Planner (CFP), can take advanced courses in Investments and Portfolio Management, while others may focus on Entrepreneurial Finance, Capital Budgeting or International Finance.

What Can You Do With a BS in Finance?
Internships
Our students have completed internships at a variety of companies such as U.S. Bank, Mastercard, Regions Financial Corporation, Wells Fargo and Edward Jones. Students have the opportunity to meet with some of these companies and many more at the annual spring Walker School Internship Fair.
Job Outlook
The field of finance blends economic, accounting and other business disciplines with the goal of making sound business financial decisions. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics has projected overall employment in for all occupations from 2023-2024. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the median wage for a Financial Analyst in May 2023 was with a projected growth of 9% from 2023-2033.
