In the Department of Teacher Education, undergraduates study traditional education and explore issues in the field of educational philosophy, theory and methodology through a variety of professional activities.
Education majors and minors develop knowledge and pedagogical skills through curriculum based on current research and effective practice. Students also have the opportunity to study at 51小黄车's international campuses, participate in conferences and prepare for teaching in diverse classroom environments.
鈥淚n education, one of our main goals is to serve students and the community. We organized a food drive, which shows a sense of community. Students can take the food from their school's pantry and they will be able to focus on school if they are well-fed.鈥

All Education degree students complete their degree with teaching experience. Apprentice teaching placements are with the St. Louis City, St. Louis County, St. Charles County and Jefferson County School Districts along with private and independent schools.
Combine Your Degree with a STEM Double Major
Students pursuing the BA in Education with an Emphasis in Secondary Biology, Chemistry or Mathematics who declare a double major in a STEM-related field (Biology, Chemistry, Math or Computer Science) may apply for the WESTbound Success Scholarship, with up to $15,000 per academic year for their junior and senior years. Transfer students are also eligible.
